Alison and Bradeigh met in 2017 through the Women’s Fiction Writers Association, when Alison lightly stalked Bradeigh during a virtual writing workshop and then convinced her to swap pages for critique. They instantly fell in love with each other’s writing, which set off several years of critique partnership in which they served as an extra brain, confidante, therapist, and best friend to each other.

During the spring of 2020, when the whole world was on lockdown, they started talking about individual book ideas they had and realized that those two concepts could be combined into one even more powerful story. They feverishly began writing that story and quickly realized how much they enjoyed writing together, finding that their years of sharing a writing brain made them natural co-writers. They wanted a cohesive identity for their partnership, and Ali Brady was born.

That first story led to them brainstorming a new idea, a twist on the classic movie The Parent Trap, where two girls meet at camp and realize they are sisters. But instead of the girls trying to get their parents together, their father (now deceased) has brought them back together as adults with an unexpected inheritance: a run-down beach house in Destin, Florida.

Alison and Bradeigh each wrote one of the sisters, and the whole process was a complete joy from start to finish. It got even better when their dream editor, Cindy Hwang at Berkley, bought it on proposal after only reading the first five chapters (plus the most detailed outline Cindy had ever read). Alison and Bradeigh look forward to a long partnership as Ali Brady, wherein they hope to write uplifting stories about strong female relationships, served with a generous helping of romance.
